The Leading Change Network is a global organizing organization rising to this challenge by developing the leadership and organizations needed to shape the emerging world.

As organizers do, we’re building teams of people who share a passion for developing leadership and expanding democracy, and who are willing to commit their resources of time and skills to help us on this mission.

Here are the teams we’re planning to build:

 

Communications Volunteer Team

2-3 volunteers / 10 hours per month

As a communications volunteer, you’ll be a part of LCN’s communications team that works on amplifying the work that our people do all over the world and engaging our community of practice of over 6,000 organizers, researchers and educators.

You’ll join a team with a culture of brainstorming and experimentation, where your opinion and ideas will matter.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Brainstorm, create and execute new content to inform & engage our audiences
  • Monitor & manage social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter
  • Support the production & promotion of ‘Faces of Change with Marshall Ganz’ podcast
  • Analyze analytics to gauge the success of our communications and campaigns

We’d love to hear from anyone interested in working with us, but particularly welcome interest from people with two or more of the following strengths:

  • Passion and commitment to global justice, human rights, citizen empowerment and social change
  • Ability to source relevant content and write stories
  • Ability to manage contemporary social media platforms
  • Lots of creativity and curiosity when designing content
  • English proficiency is required. Fluency in other languages would be great!
  • You have experience volunteering or working in a nonprofit or campaign setting
  • Creative energy and be comfortable to push forward to execute your ideas

Learning Development Volunteer Team

2-3 volunteers / 5 hours per month

The Leading Change Network is a place for people organizing for change to come together in community and continue to develop their leadership and organizing skills with their peers from around the world. As a Learning Development Volunteer, you’ll work closely with our Community of Practice and Member Engagement Coordinator to support the learning journey of our members by capturing, synthesizing and cascading the important learning and outcomes from across our work streams.

What you’ll be doing:

  • You’ll join our learning events online and capture key discussion points and learnings
  • Synthesize and prepare short written summaries of the learning outcomes
  • Help to write stories that help cascade the learning outcomes to wider LCN audiences

We’d love to hear from anyone interested in working with us, but particularly welcome interest from people with two or more of the following strengths:

  • Passion and commitment to global justice, human rights, citizen empowerment and social change
  • Ability to attend online events primarily in the US Eastern Daylight Time Zone (EDT)
  • Ability to capture and synthesize complex concepts and information
  • Ability to write short articles
  • English proficiency is required. Fluency in other languages would be great!
  • You have experience volunteering or working in a nonprofit or campaign setting

Data Volunteer Team

2-3 volunteers / 5 hours per month

As the Data Analysis team, you will be responsible for collecting and analyzing data on community activities to inform the direction and content of our LCN programs. You will work closely with our Community of Practice and Member Engagement Coordinator to use data to ensure that our community is connecting with, learning from, and supporting one another.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Collect data around participation and activity related to our various programs (online courses, online events, coaching sessions, community groups, etc.)
  • Analyze engagement patterns and identify avenues for further engagement within the community
  • Support us to manage our database of LCN members and subscribers
  • Design indicators and track metrics to capture membership engagement

We’d love to hear from anyone interested in working with us, but particularly welcome interest from people with two or more of the following strengths:

  • Passion and commitment to global justice, human rights, citizen empowerment and social change
  • Interest in or experience with database management and data analysis
  • Attention to detail and organization skills
  • Working proficiency in English
  • You have experience volunteering or working in a nonprofit or campaign setting
