Organizers can use tactical mapping to better understand the complex web of interactive relationships, where power flows in different levels of influence.

On February 22, 2019, LCN held a Speaker Series on Tactical Mapping with Harvard Professor Douglas A. Johnson.

Our guest speaker, Professor Douglas, co-founded the International Nestle Boycott Committee, served as Executive Director of Minnesota-based Center for the Victims of Torture and helped develop the tactical mapping technique.

He shared how we as organizers can use tactical mapping to better understand the complex web of interactive relationships, where power flows in different levels of influence.

With this new understanding, we can think more innovatively about appropriate targets for action, tactics to be applied and the timing of action – three essential components of strategizing.

Over 40 people from 11 different countries joined the discussion.
