  • If a resource is about a particular topic, it is tagged as such. If you are organizing around climate and environment, disability, education, gender, health, immigrant and refugee justice, Indigenous justice and decolonization, labor and union organizing, political and electoral organizing, or racial justice and abolition, use the filters to find resources that are specific to your topic. We are always looking to increase our resources in these topics, and welcome suggestions for new resources, too.
• Filter by Types
  • Are you an auditory learner? Do you prefer videos over written text? You can narrow down the types of resources here by articles, audio (e.g. podcasts), books, case studies, guides and slides, and videos.
• Filter by Regions
  • If the resource is adapted for a certain region, it is categorized as such. For example, if you filter by “Africa,” you can find a case study from Kenya, a video of a story of self shared in Tanzania, and a workshop guide in Somali.
• Filter by Practices
  • By “practice,” we mean the leadership practices of organizing: coaching, public narrative, relationship building, team structure, strategy, and action. Combining this filter with other filters can enhance your search; for instance, you can look for “videos” and “public narrative” and find our extensive list of public narrative videos, as well as model videos of people coaching other people’s public narrative.
• Filter by Access
  • Not a member and want to enjoy the Resource Center without running into the membership wall? You can filter for public or member-only resources. If you are interested in member-only resources and are facing financial hardship, we welcome you to apply for our scholarship membership here (scroll down to Scholarships).
• Filter by “Who I Am”
  • Honestly, filtering by “I am an organizer” does not narrow down the resource pool much because everything is about being an organizer. But if you are specifically looking for entry-level resources (“I am new to organizing”), resources to upskill your coaching, facilitating, and training skills (“I am a coach or trainer”), or academic resources (“I am a researcher”), this filter could be helpful for you.
• Filter by Languages
  • This filter should be self explanatory! We are always looking to add more languages to this list. Please let us know if you have any leads.
• And finally… Favorite your favorite resource!
  • Found a resource that you really like and want to come back to later? You can favorite the resource by clicking on the heart mark, next to the title of the resource on the landing page, or next to “Share this page” on each page of the resource. You can then filter by “My Favorites” to see your own special list of helpful resources. Favoriting is just for you! No one else will see what you favorited. (This feature is currently available for logged-in members only, and we are working to extend it to everyone.)

How can I deepen learning with the LCN community on the Resource Center? (Member-only feature)

We want the Resource Center to be an intentional space of interaction and generation of new ideas and resources. We want to avoid making it a void where someone contributes a resource and never finds out what happened to it afterward. Therefore, we redesigned the Resource Center in a way that enables mutual feedback between resource creators and users, and seeds discussions among members.
