Over the last week we’ve been taking some time to listen and understand the collective needs of our community and develop a program that will support people to continue to lead in the face of uncertainty.
The recent developments globally to contain COVID-19 is requiring urgent shifts in the way we organize and the way we live.
This moment also shows us that our work as organizers has never been so important. It offers a unique opportunity to deepen the work of organizing for change in these trying times, and beyond. It calls us to draw on all the resources of our heads, hands and hearts.
As we develop this work further, we want to share the three streams of work that we’re hearing will be important over the coming period:
Starting next week we’ll be organizing a series of webinars to support you in responding to the challenges of organizing and leadership in the time of physical distancing. Session dates and times will be announced soon, but first we want to hear from your experiences of bringing people together online.
We need to hear from you about your experience organizing around COVID-19 – click here to share this in our short survey.
We are moving forward to launch an online course in Organizing (Organizing for Change) and an online course in Public Narrative (Narrative for Change). Click here for more information and to register expressions of interest.
We’re continuing with our existing online programs as a space for the community to learn from each other and build capacity together. Make sure to check our latest program including:
- Our upcoming How To session on “Using coaching and training for leadership development” with We Own It on Friday 27th March;
- Faces of Change podcast with Marshall Ganz;
- Community group gatherings
There are many community discussions taking place and resources being developed to support our work as organizers – we’ll be sharing resources & discussions regularly on our Facebook Group.
We’d love to hear from you about any excellent practices, approaches and resources that would be helpful to share with the community.
We will be in touch with more information about our COVID-19 response program soon,
The LCN Team
