The 4th May marked the end of the first phase of the “Leadership, Organizing and Action” training with folks from the Australian Labor Party, Democratic Action Party (Malaysia), E tū union in New Zealand, Mongolian People’s Party, Nas Dem Indonesia, and Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle, in collaboration with Australian Labor International. The course was taught by LCN trainers Noorulain Masood, Shivani Kumar, and Stephen Donnelly, with the first session on introducing organizing by none other than Marshall Ganz himself!
At the end of the training, participants left rich with learnings around coaching and how it can help uncover hidden resources within people; how building a growing community of empowered individuals is key to strong grassroots movements; how leadership development is anchored in the head, heart and hands; and how stories of self, us and now work together to move people, build power from within and seed deep connections.
We are still buzzing from this amazing experience and can’t wait to move on to our Phase 2 happening in the summer! Stay tuned for more updates.
