There was an amazing turnout at the meetup for organizers in Australia and Aotearoa on 11th May, held by the LCN Australia team. Organizers from across the region shared their organizing projects and priorities for the coming year, explored opportunities for learning and collaborating, reconnected with old friends and built new connections!

The LCN Australia team has been bringing people together since 2020, building a community of practice to share successes, challenges, and innovations. With the latest meetup the team is carrying forward the momentum from the first-ever Orientation to Organizing session held by the team in March this year. This will feed into the group’s strategy and activities in the coming year.

Sign up for the next Orientation to Organizing on June 8th!

The upcoming Orientation to Organizing session is a great way to connect with the community and learn tools for building people power to create change. The session is contextualized for the regional audience, where participants will learn from a campaign by the Australian Education Union (AEU) Victoria Branch to win better workload and pay for teachers and education support staff. Through the campaign, AEU also built campaign hubs’ capacity and leadership.

We are looking forward to seeing more of the collaborative work that LCN Australia and the community will be doing this year!
