Bringing Organizers Together to Build Power and Drive Change

The LCN Community Organizing Global Workshop—Winter 2025 was an inspiring gathering that brought together 50 passionate organizers from across the globe. This intensive workshop provided a space for learning, collaboration, and campaign development, equipping participants with tools to drive impactful change in their communities.

Workshop Highlights

  • Participants: 50 organizers from 17 organizations in 9 countries, including 8 active campaign teams.
  • Attendance Rate: 95% of participants engaged actively throughout the workshop.

Campaigns in Action

Participants worked collaboratively to develop their blueprint for real-world campaigns to enable constituencies & address critical issues such as:

  • Land rights recognition for Indigenous people in Brazil at the COP30 
  • Affordable housing advocacy in Northern Virginia by organizing the Muslim community to demand the approval of four new developments. 
  • Right to Counsel legislation in Pennsylvania to protect vulnerable renters.
  • Water security in England by challenging privatization and demanding public ownership.
  • Climate action in British Columbia through coalition-building in the green construction sector.
  • Safe housing in Austin, Texas, by pressuring policymakers to implement annual inspections.

Meet the Teaching Team

A dedicated team of 9 coaches and 5 upfront trainers led the workshop, bringing their hands-on experience in organizing on the ground to provide guidance and coaching to the participants and create a dynamic learning environment. The team included Marshall Ganz, Rawan Zeine, Sadie Dean, Kortni Malone, Marina Pavlic, Graeme Lamb, Hoda Barakat, Jake Schlachter, Jen Simmons, Kathryn Sisa, Michael Gagné, Mustafa Monir, Ru’a Al-Abweh, Tejas Motwani. 

Looking Ahead

The energy and momentum generated continue beyond this workshop. Participants are now taking what they have learned back to their organizations and communities, applying their skills to real-world organizing and advocacy efforts. We are excited to see how these campaigns evolve on the ground and make an impact in the months ahead!
