SPS: Action

Skill Practice Session: Mobilizing People for Value Based Change (Action 4C’s)

August 31st at 9 am ET / 3 pm CET / 6:30 pm IST

We organize because we believe change is possible. But change demands action, and action requires commitment, community, and hope. How do we move our people from intention to commitment? And how do we turn those commitments into collective action that grows rather than depletes? Join us for 90 minutes to practice securing commitments using the 4Cs framework.

Strategy and Tactics

Strategy I: September 24th at 10 am ET

Strategy II: October 20th at 10 am ET

Strategy isn’t just a plan, it’s a practice. Asking the right questions, thinking critically under uncertainty, and finding a clear path toward your campaign goal are skills that have to be built. Join us across two sessions to strengthen your strategic thinking and develop the muscle you need to navigate the complexity of real-world organizing.

November 10th at 10 am ET / 5 pm CET / 8:30 pm IST

You’ve built your strategy. Now how do you grow it? If you’re working to scale your impact, expand your campaign’s power, or figure out how to measure whether it’s working, this session is for you. Organizing is about building people power, and that power needs to be reflected in your team structure and felt through how you track progress. Join us for two hours to practice scaling impact, growing power, and measuring success.

The Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU) is now recruiting for the 2027 Organising Works traineeship—a nationally recognized leadership development program that has helped launch the careers of more than 1,000 union organisers since 1994.

Through a 12-month paid traineeship, participants receive hands-on organising experience alongside comprehensive training, education, and mentorship while working with one of Australia’s unions. The program is particularly encouraging applications from people from marginalized and racialized communities. If you’re based in Australia and passionate about building worker power and advancing social justice, this is an excellent opportunity to begin a career in organizing. Applications close on 12 July 2026.

In a time that calls for courageous, grounded, and resilient leadership, participants will receive 4–8 one-on-one coaching sessions with professionally certified, values-aligned coaches who understand the realities of movement work. The program also includes leadership development workshops, opportunities to connect with a diverse network of emerging leaders, and a supportive space to reflect, navigate challenges, prevent burnout, and strengthen your leadership practice. If you’re looking to invest in your growth while sustaining your commitment to organizing, we encourage you to apply before July 24th, 2026.
