Join us this October and November for our 4-part series for Coaches & Trainers: Justice in Practice. This learning series aims to equip coaches and trainers in our global community with the skills, awareness, and frameworks needed to enable others to lead amid deepening oppression and systemic injustice—and cultivate spaces and movements rooted in justice, anti-oppression, and collective liberation

About the sessions:

Session #1: Unlearning the Script: Power, Fragility & the Long Work of Racial Justice

This immersive workshop invites participants—particularly those in leadership and facilitation roles—to critically examine how emotional and embodied responses to race, racism, and oppression show up in their practice. Using the lens of fight, flight, freeze, and fawn, we explore how defensiveness, avoidance, appeasement, or over-identification surface when privilege is challenged or discomfort arises in equity spaces

Information:

  • Date:  Wednesday, October 8th, 2025
  • Time: 10am – 12pm Eastern Time (find your timezone here)
  • Place: Online on Zoom

Session #2: Leading from Within: Embodied Story of Self & Inner Grounding

Agency is the power to make intentional, grounded choices in the face of uncertainty, complexity, and constraint. In justice-rooted work, our ability to act with clarity and purpose is deeply shaped by how we’ve been socialized, the systems we’ve internalized, and the stories we carry. As leaders, organizers, and educators, we are called not just to act — but to respond with awareness, with alignment, and with care. In this session, we turn inward — not as retreat, but as resistance. Through guided reflection, embodied storytelling, and meditative practice, we explore what it means to lead from a place of agency that is self-defined and rooted in dignity.

Information:

  • Date: Wednesday, October 22nd, 2025
  • Time:  9:00am – 10:30am Eastern Time (find your timezone here)
  • Place: Online on Zoom

Session #3: Responding vs. Reacting — Navigating Conflict with Skill

When tension arises, how do we lead from a place of integrity rather than reactivity? In this session, we’ll explore how to recognize emotional triggers and build the internal capacity to stay grounded in the face of conflict. Through reflection and guided practice, we’ll explore how to reconnect when relationships feel strained, laying the foundation for trust, empathy, and repair. This is about becoming the kind of leader who builds bridges, even in moments of rupture.

  • Date: Wednesday, November 5th, 2025
  • Time: 10am – 12pm Eastern Time (find your timezone here)
  • Place: Online on Zoom

Session #4: Addressing systems of oppression with Ancient Wisdom and Indigenous Practices

As public narrative and organizing coaches and trainers, we have a responsibility to design and deliver curriculum and pedagogy that connects with everyone who comes to learn. For these experiences to be deeply meaningful and relevant, it requires us to critically review and adapt our ways of knowing, being, and doing through the lens of ancient wisdom and Indigenous practices.

  • Time: 10am – 12pm Eastern Time (find your timezone here)
  • Place: Online on Zoom

This year has taken a lot from us. As we move through deep uncertainty — politically, socially, and personally — and experience great injustice, many of us have found ourselves questioning how best to respond, and where our leadership is most needed. At times we’ve acted boldly, at times we’ve paused, adapted, or leaned into care. This session is an opportunity to reflect on how we've each acted in response to challenge — and to reconnect with the agency and clarity we need to move forward. Together, we’ll surface the range of ways people across our community have navigated this moment — whether by building bridges and connections, disrupting and raising the stakes, or other meaningful ways — and explore what each of these approaches makes possible. This isn’t about finding the one “right” way to respond, but about learning from the diversity of leadership choices and archetypes that

As we witness ongoing genocide in Palestine, many of us are asking what more we can do, and how we can do it together. We have seen again and again that our struggles are connected, and liberation anywhere depends on solidarity everywhere. Join our on Tuesday, November 25th for Meet & Build: Organizing for Palestine, a collective space for individuals who have committed themselves to standing up for justice and confronting the ongoing genocide in Palestine. This gathering is not just a moment of reflection, but a participatory space. It’s an opportunity to share experiences, strategies, and emotional truths in small-group breakout discussions. We are here to build together—not to listen passively, but to actively share and engage in the collective work of strategy and solidarity. In the face of the violence and atrocities unfolding against Palestinians, many of us are grappling with burnout, helplessness, and outrage, while feeling

“Curriculum didn’t arrive on a boat, pedagogy didn’t arrive on a boat, it was always here”. (Professor Lester-Irabinna Rigney, 2015). As we continue to refine our purpose to equip leaders to step into our definition of leadershipーaccepting responsibility for enabling others to achieve shared purpose under conditions of uncertaintyーwe must weave ancient wisdom and Indigenous practices into our curriculum and pedagogy that is deeply rooted in the traditions, customs, heritages, and cultures that lie at the heart of our people and communities. These actions will inherently push back colonial
