Our communities are under assault across the globe. When everything feels urgent, and the scale overwhelming, it’s easy to feel paralyzed.

So how do we tell stories that cut through the fear and fatigue—stories that make hope tangible and action possible?

The Story of Now is where strategy meets story. Learn how through a powerful Story of Now, we can make the hope real, experience the urgency to act, and invite people to join you in meaningful, collective action.

That’s where our Skill Practice Session on Story of Now comes in.

This 90-minute skill practice session will help you strengthen your understanding of the craft, learn to identify the resources in the room, develop a compelling story of Now, as well as coach one another on our stories.

This session is led by Maria Dueñas Lopez, public narrative and community organizing coach.

Our skill practice sessions are exclusive for LCN members and their guests (team members, etc.) who are looking for opportunities to grow their narrative skills, connect with others in the community, and be part of a transformative learning experience. Story of Now is part of Public Narrative, along with Story of Self and Story of Us. An effective Story of Now articulates the urgent challenge to the values that we share, the hope of what is possible, and calls on others to join you in action.

This event is for LCN members who want to improve their ability to tell stories that connect with people and inspire action. This includes community organizers, activists, educators, artists, and anyone else who wants to use their voice to make a difference in the world.

We want our skill practice sessions to be a space where you can build the collective organizing capacity of your teams and organisations, because we know that is critical to the success of campaigns. Invite members of your team and community to practice essential organizing skills togetherーyou can register on their behalf by writing their names and emails on the registration form.
