Questions & answers

Public narrative is the art of translating values into action. It involves crafting compelling stories that connect with people’s emotions, their sense of self, and their understanding of the world. Effective narratives can motivate people to take action, support a cause, or join a movement.

Marshall Ganz is a renowned professor at Harvard University and an expert on community organizing and leadership. His work has been instrumental in shaping the strategies and tactics of social movements worldwide. Ganz emphasizes the role of storytelling in building communities, developing leaders, and mobilizing people to create change.

The book explores iconic examples like the Montgomery Bus Boycott, the farmworkers’ movement led by Cesar Chavez, and Barack Obama’s presidential campaign to illustrate how effective storytelling and community organizing can lead to significant social change.

Understanding the power of public narrative can offer valuable insights to organizers, activists, and anyone interested in creating change in Italy. This book examines global movements while exploring how such storytelling strategies can be adapted to local Italian needs and causes.
