March’s LCN Speaker Series will feature Dr. Maria Stephan, co-author of Why Civil Resistance Works: The Strategic Logic of Nonviolent Conflict and Director of the Program on Nonviolent Action at the U.S. Institute of Peace.

Dr. Maria’s work focuses on applied research, training and education and informing policies and practice related to civil resistance, nonviolent action and their roles in transforming violent conflict and advancing just peace.

She will be discussing with us why civil resistance works and how nonviolent action and peacebuilding approaches can be used together to mobilize communities, address injustice, and support inclusive, participatory peace processes.
