LCN’s Innovation Hub is a member-led learning space to explore innovative and experimental ideas and solutions, from the adaptation of the pedagogy, to new strategies and tactics.

Come and join us in our next Innovation Hub “Mindfulness as a pedagogical tool for Public Narrative” on February 24 Monday 9:00-10:30 EST.

Public Narrative requires people to be present and aware, to reflect deeply on our experiences, emotions, and values. Most days, we wonder, how can we get workshop participants to be more deeply present to their personal stories, to the US in the room, and the NOW that affects us all.

In this session, we look at a potential tool that can help us to help participants sink deeper into the experience of the Self, Us and Now.

We ask: How can we use mindfulness to strengthen the practice of Public Narrative?

Mindfulness is about more than meditation; it is about being present to what is in the moment, without judgement, moving us from preconceived notions to a new and different reality.

As a mindfulness teacher in training and a Public Narrative practitioner, LCN member Noorulain Masood has been exploring how mindfulness can enhance our Public Narrative workshops. In this session she will share some preliminary ideas and facilitate a group discussion to explore how we can apply mindfulness to our work with Public Narrative.

Noorulain is a teaching fellow for online courses Leadership, Action, and Organizing: Leading Change and Public Narrative: Leadership, Storytelling, and Action, and has extensive training and practice in mindfulness.
