Climate change is one of the biggest challenges facing our planet, but it doesn’t affect us equally.

That’s why we’re hosting our first-ever session focused on climate justice organizing happening in the global south, where the impacts of the climate crises are felt most acutely.

Together with the LCN Climate Justice Group and AktivAsia, we’re bringing together climate justice organizers and activists from across the global south and beyond to share stories of hope and resistance, and explore challenges unique to the context, such as restricted civic spaces, scarcity of resources, and questions around centering the most marginalized to achieve a just transition.

Join us on Tuesday, June 27th, to explore the challenges and opportunities of climate justice organizing in the global south!

We’ll be hearing from incredible climate organizers across Asia who are building power in their communities including:

  • Prabhakaran Veeraarasu, Poovulagin Nanbargal (India)
  • Kholida Annisa, Environmental Division Lead, Muhammadiyah Student Association Executive Body (Indonesia)
  • Rubby Emir, Co-founder and Indonesia Lead, AktivAsia (Indonesia)
  • Tami Alvarez, Vice-Chairperson for External Relations of Sabokahan Unity of Lumad Women (The Philippines), and more!

We also want to hear from YOU! In breakout rooms, you will have opportunities to share your own stories of hope and inspiration, as well as your experiences, insights, and challenges around climate justice organizing with each other.

This session is free and open to everyone, so please invite your team, colleagues, and community members to join us!
