Celebrating a Global Cohort of Organizers: The 2026 Public Narrative & Community Organizing Workshop

39 organizers and leaders from 11 countries came together for LCN’s 2026 Public Narrative & Community Organizing Workshop to strengthen their leadership and organizing practice.

On June 13–14 and June 20–21, 2026, 39 organizers and leaders from 11 countries came together to strengthen their leadership, deepen their organizing practice, and build relationships across a growing global community through LCN’s Full Public Narrative & Community Organizing Workshop.

Over the course of the workshop, participants learned and practiced the five leadership practices of the People, Power, Change framework while developing the skills needed to mobilize people, build leadership, and lead collective action in their own communities. Through hands-on practice, coaching, and peer learning, participants strengthened their capacity to lead with purpose and build people power.

This year’s workshop also marked an important milestone for expanding accessibility in LCN. For the first time, we had two dedicated Spanish-language teams, enabling leadership-based organizing training and strengthening connections across our growing Spanish-speaking community.

In the workshop, participants:

  • Practiced the five core leadership practices of the People Power Change framework
  • Developed and refined their Story of Self, Story of Us, and Story of Now.
  • Learned how to build relationships rooted in shared values and shared purpose.
  • Strengthened their capacity to build leadership teams and lead strategic campaigns.
  • Learned alongside organizers working across diverse countries, movements, and contexts.

The workshop brought together participants with a wide range of organizing experiences, creating a global learning community where people could exchange ideas, challenge one another and learn from real-world leadership experiences across different contexts.

Participants described the experience as both deeply practical and personally transformative.

As someone relatively new to this field, the workshop both validated my existing novice coaching methods and introduced a sophisticated layer of theory which I plan to incorporate into my practice.
