(Three sessions from lived experiences of building people’s power today)
This May 2026, we’re glad to share an upcoming series hosted by our partner Ahel: Expanding the Possible: Change in a Difficult Context, a three-part series of gatherings to explore and share experiences from the ground and reflect: how does building people power for change continue today, and what does it take to support it?
Across three sessions, two held online and one in person in Amman, and offered in both English and Arabic (with interpretation available in one session), participants will engage with real community experiences and hear directly from organizers and leaders working on the ground. An opportunity to reflect on how shared leadership is built, how communities are creating change, and what it takes to sustain this work over time.
While the sessions are connected, each one is complete on its own, so you can join whichever fits your interests, language, or availability.
Session 1: Popular Education: From Shared Understanding to Collective Leadership

How do people move from unpacking concepts and building shared understanding into collective action? This session explores the use of popular education with grassroots communities, alongside stories from participants and facilitators.
Session 2: Activating People’s Resources and Experience: Organizing Lessons from Agricultural Workers in Jordan

This session shares an organizing experience with women agricultural workers in Jordan, showing how campaigns can move beyond reliance on advocacy toward building people’s power and organizing communities to create change from within, while using their own resources and lived experiences. Participants will hear directly from the women leading this work.
Session 3: The Power of Agency in Action: Meet Ahel’s Active Communities

📍 In person (Amman, Jordan)
An in-person gathering bringing together organizers and community leaders from different contexts to explore how organizing and leadership take shape on the ground today. The session will open space for shared learning, exchange, and relationship-building.
