Accountability Process

Leading Change Network (LCN) is committed to protecting all individuals from harm and ensuring a safe, trusted reporting environment. We commit to handling all concerns with transparency, fairness, and a focus on repair, ensuring that our work reflects the values of justice and dignity that we seek to advance.

Harm can occur even in spaces dedicated to justice. If you experience or witness a behavior that contradicts our commitment to anti-oppression or our Membership Guidelines and Code of Conduct, we encourage you to tell us.

  • How to Raise a Concern: Concerns, including harassment, discrimination, and violations of our Membership Guidelines and Code of Conduct, should be reported as soon as possible to reporting@leadingchangenetwork.org. Please include details of the incident, including the type of violation that occurred, who was involved, what was said or done, and when and where it happened. Emails to reporting@leadingchangenetwork.org will be shared only with the Executive Director and Chair of the Board of Directors. Reports may also be submitted anonymously.
  • Response Process: All reports will be reviewed promptly and handled with respect, care, and attention to your privacy. If you so request, we will make every effort to maintain the confidentiality of your concern, though in some cases this may impact our ability to learn more about or respond adequately to the issue. We will acknowledge receipt of the complaint within 7 days and outline the next steps.
  • Protection from Retaliation: LCN strictly prohibits retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith, participates in an investigation, or supports someone reporting a concern.
  • Investigation: All concerns are taken seriously. In some cases, such as allegations that require specialized expertise or independent review, we may escalate matters to the Board and/or engage an external investigator to help ensure a thorough and impartial process. Interim safety measures may be applied during inquiries.
  • Outcomes: Depending on the situation, LCN will engage in facilitated dialogue, restorative practices, mediation, training, or other appropriate actions to address harm and prevent recurrence, including verbal or written warnings, suspension from activities, revocation of membership, and referral to legal authorities when required.

LCN reserves the right to take any action necessary to protect the safety and integrity of its community and uphold its obligations. We commit to handling all concerns with transparency, fairness, and a focus on repair, ensuring that our work reflects the values of justice and dignity that we seek to advance.
